Whole-system duct and dryer vent check with before-and-after photos - you see exactly what came out of your vents
That "$99 whole-house special" is a bait ad - the real number appears once they are in your hallway, or the "clean" is a shop-vac at the register. We photograph the inside of your ducts before and after instead.

AfterFast, Reliable HVAC Cleaning Across New Canaan
HVAC cleaning in New Canaan typically runs $425 – $725 for a standard single-system home, and the honest version of this service means cleaning every part of the system, not just the register covers you can see. If you’re on Oenoke Ridge, over by Mead Park, or up in Silvermine and you’ve noticed dust settling back on furniture within days, weak airflow from ceiling vents, or a furnace that runs longer to keep up, your ductwork and air handler may be carrying more than air. Call (737) 727-2314 and we’ll walk you through what a real cleaning involves before you commit to anything.
We know New Canaan’s homes because we work inside them every week. The housing mix here is nothing like a single-builder subdivision: a 1760 Colonial near the Village Center has entirely different duct realities than a 2005 house off Smith Ridge Road. That matters when someone hands you a flat price sight unseen. We don’t do that. We look first, then quote, then clean.
Why Cardinal Air Duct Cleaning Is New Canaan’s Preferred HVAC Cleaning Company
New Canaan homeowners call us because we answer the phone, show up when the live tracking link says we will, and hand over a written price before a single register is touched. Our technicians are background-checked and arrive in uniform, and they run equipment built for this trade: Rotobrush rotary brush systems, Nikro HEPA-rated vacuums, and Abatement Technologies containment units. That’s not a sales line. It’s the difference between loosening debris and actually removing it from your home.
Omar Haddad leads our team, and the standard he set is simple: if the work isn’t right within 365 days, we return and correct it at no charge. That’s the 365-Day Done Right Promise, and it applies to every New Canaan job without exception. No carve-outs, no fine print. The same goes for the written guarantee on every repair and a free second visit if that repair fails.
Scheduling from New Canaan is coordinated through our Hartford office, and crews are dispatched to New Canaan on a tracked arrival window you can follow from your phone. You’ll know your technician’s name before they pull in the driveway, and you’ll get before-and-after photos of your own ducts when the job is done, the standard we call The Relay Standard.
AC Duct Cleaning in New Canaan
AC Duct Cleaning in New Canaan is the process of removing built-up dust, pet hair, and debris from the supply and return duct runs that feed your air conditioning, plus the evaporator coil and blower assembly where that debris gets trapped. In a New Canaan house, the condition of those runs depends heavily on the age of the home and whether anyone sealed the ductwork when the system was installed or replaced. Older Colonials and mid-century builds often have unsealed return plenums pulling air from finished basements or wall cavities, which means more dust in the system every summer the AC runs.
A standard AC duct cleaning on a single-system New Canaan home runs $425 – $575. That covers both supply and return sides, the air handler, and the evaporator coil. It’s one flat price per system, agreed before we start. If your system is oversized or the house has two air handlers, expect to be on the higher side of that range. We don’t price by the vent. We price the whole system because that’s the only way to actually fix the problem.
Evaporator Coil and Blower Cleaning
The evaporator coil sits at the heart of your AC, and in New Canaan’s humid summers it collects a film of condensed moisture and dust that chokes airflow and drives up cooling costs. We clean coils with professional-grade tools, not a spray bottle and a rag, and we show you the coil before and after. A clogged blower wheel does the same damage on the air-moving side, and most of the systems we open in New Canaan haven’t had the blower pulled and cleaned since installation.
Heat Exchanger and Air Handler Cleaning
The heat exchanger and the air handler housing are places most homeowners never see until airflow complaints get bad enough to call someone. We scope both with a camera before we quote, especially on older New Canaan systems where disconnected flex runs and crushed sections hide behind finished ceilings. Cleaning the handler properly means pulling the access panel, vacuuming the cabinet, and verifying the condensate line isn’t backing up into the system.
Furnace Cleaning in New Canaan
Furnace Cleaning in New Canaan means cleaning the supply ductwork that carries warm air through the house in winter, the return ducts that pull air back to the furnace, and the internal components of the furnace itself: blower, heat exchanger, and burners where applicable. In a climate like New Canaan’s, where the furnace runs from mid-October through April, the return side of the system becomes a highway for whatever’s floating in your air: dust from renovation work, pet dander, cellulose, drywall debris, even the fine grit that gets tracked in from the gravel driveways and dirt roads that surround the area.
A standard furnace and duct cleaning in New Canaan runs $450 – $725, with the variance driven by system size, number of returns, and how much of the ductwork is accessible from finished basements. Like every job we do, it’s one flat price per system, in writing, before work starts. If someone quotes you $99 for a whole-house furnace cleaning, the math doesn’t work: that’s a per-vent teaser price, and the actual source of the dust never gets touched.
Return-Side Duct Cleaning
The return side is where New Canaan systems fail first. Older homes here often have return pathways hidden behind drywall or running through finished basement ceilings, which means the dust load on that side is substantial and invisible. We set up negative pressure at the main trunk and run agitation tools through every return from every register opening, so the loosened debris goes into the HEPA-filtered vacuum instead of back into your living room.
Coil Treatment and Filtration Check
After source removal on the furnace and AC runs, we treat the coil and verify the filter setup matches the system’s actual needs. That last part matters more in New Canaan than most homeowners realize: a filter with the wrong MERV rating for your blower can starve the system for air, and we see that on a meaningful share of the older equipment we open here. Brands like Honeywell and Aprilaire filtration products cover the range of what these systems actually need.
Trusted Brands We Service in New Canaan
We service whatever equipment is already in your New Canaan home, regardless of brand. Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Rheem, Goodman, Bryant, York, American Standard: all of them show up in New Canaan basements and attics, and our technicians work on all of them. The equipment we bring to the job is the professional side of the equation. Nikro HEPA-rated extraction, Rotobrush rotary brush systems, and Abatement Technologies containment units are the clean-up standard, and for filtration we install and service Honeywell and Aprilaire products. If your system is running a Guardsman or OEM filter, we’ll verify it’s doing what it should and tell you honestly if it’s time to change it.
Common HVAC Cleaning Problems We See in New Canaan Homes
- Construction dust from finished-basement renovations. New Canaan has a lot of finished basements and walk-up attics, and when a basement is renovated, the dust migrates straight into the return ducts. We’re pulling drywall dust and old cellulose out of returns on a regular basis.
- Disconnected or crushed flex runs on older retrofitted systems. Homes built before central air was standard often have ductwork retrofitted into tight chases and finished ceilings, and sections get disconnected or crushed without anyone noticing. Camera inspection finds what airflow complaints hint at.
- Unsealed return plenums pulling from wall cavities and crawl spaces. A return that’s not sealed is pulling unfiltered air from wherever the gaps are, and in older Colonials those gaps are everywhere. That’s why cleaning only the registers never fixes the dust problem.
- Wrong-filter MERV mismatches starving the blower. A high-MERV filter on a system not designed for it reduces airflow and can shorten blower life. We verify the filter setup matches the system on every New Canaan job.
Pricing for HVAC Cleaning in New Canaan, CT
Here’s what we actually charge, in writing, for New Canaan homes. A single-system AC duct cleaning runs $425 – $575. A complete furnace and duct cleaning runs $450 – $725. If you have two systems, add roughly 35 – 45% to those ranges: two air handlers means twice the access time and twice the debris. The price you’re handed before we start is the price you pay. No per-vent math, no add-on charges at the door, no “while we’re in there” upgrades. If the camera inspection shows something outside the cleaning scope, you’ll hear about it before a decision is made, not after the invoice prints. Call (737) 727-2314 for a free estimate on your specific system.
We know other companies quote lower. We also know what those quotes typically leave out: the trunk lines, the air handler, the return-side ductwork, and any coil treatment. That’s not a cleaning. That’s a register wipe-down with a camera crew. The Relay Standard exists because this industry has a bait-and-switch reputation, and we’d rather lose a quote than match a price we know can’t deliver the work.

FAQs About HVAC Cleaning in New Canaan
Every 3 – 5 years is the honest range for most New Canaan homes, with a shorter interval if you’ve done renovation work, keep pets, or live near unpaved roads that kick up fine dust. We’ll tell you if you’re not there yet. If the ducts are clean and the coil is clear, we’ll say so, and we won’t book a cleaning you don’t need. Call (737) 727-2314 and we’ll help you figure out where your system stands.
Because the debris that actually degrades your air quality isn’t sitting in the register covers. It’s in the trunk lines, the return runs, the air handler, and the coil. Per-vent pricing leaves those untouched and gives you a low number that becomes a larger invoice once the scope grows. We quote one flat price per system, in writing, before any work starts, and that price doesn’t change at the door.
Yes. Every New Canaan job includes before-and-after photographs of your own ductwork, the coil, and the blower assembly. You’ll see the return ducts before and after source removal, and you’ll see the clean coil and blower wheel in the after shots. That’s part of The Relay Standard, and it’s non-negotiable on every job. Call (737) 727-2314 and we’ll show you what we mean.
Yes, and most New Canaan homeowners should do both in one visit. The duct runs are the same, the air handler is the same, and cleaning the coil and blower once is cheaper than opening the system twice. If you have a combined HVAC system, which most New Canaan homes do, one flat-price-per-system cleaning covers the furnace side and the AC side in the same appointment.
Because a real cleaning isn’t a thirty-minute pass with a vacuum. New Canaan homes frequently have older, retrofitted ductwork that needs camera inspection, negative pressure setup, and source removal from multiple access points. We’d rather schedule a proper window, give you a live tracked arrival time, and do the job right the first visit than rush it and miss the return side. Scheduling from our Hartford office covers New Canaan multiple times weekly, so you won’t be waiting long. Call (737) 727-2314 to see what’s available.
